About the Anatolian Shepherd Dog and Kafadar:
The Anatolian is a very gentle, loving and kind dog if socialized properly as a puppy. Though they can be very aloof around strangers. They are great with children and small animals such a pygmy goats. Shown below is "Alaturka's Kafadar of Tamoora" with his pygmy goats. At 6 months old "Kafadar" was already guarding and protecting his goats. In 1998 the Anatolian Shepherd Dog Club of America (ASDCA) awarded the "Outstanding Service Dog Award" to Kafadar for defense of his goats. Read all about it.... See below for the link. Also below see pictures of Kafadar growing up with his goats.

arrival - baby Beavis"
Though some Anatolians may seem rather passive at times they will fight very earnestly if they are challenged. Anatolians can be brought into a home with other dogs if introduced properly to those dogs and as a puppy. Below is "Kafadar" taking a snooze while still having a watchful eye on his goats! "Kafadar" has help guarding, as "Katie" a pet-rescue Greyhound looks on.
