Kafadar's Goats!

Kafadar is always aware of what is going on with his goat family.  When Luna had her babies (1 week old)  below, Kafadar was very aware of the new members to his goat family.  He immediately went over to inspect the goats and make them part of his responsibility to protect.  Since we have a constant threat of hawks flying over trying to snatch the baby goats when they are young, Kafadar is aware they are a threat and chases them immediately on sight.  He is very gentle with the babies and lets them play with him while he is laying under a tree.  He NEVER chases them or jumps on them.  Below are a few pictures of Kafadar with "Thelma and Louise", our new born goats.  An Anatolian Shepherd Dog has a natural guardian instinct and at a young age will bond with livestock that he is put in charge of.  Often they can have favorites as Kafadar does with Butthead, the big male.  He plays with Butthead and they are seen laying together under the shade trees.  Now his new favorites are Thelma and Louise.
